Admittedly, my cross stitch hobby has taken a backseat to other priorities in my life over the past few months. This blog being one of those priorities. But now that it’s up and running, I’ve decided that it’s time to get back into it. To keep my inspiration up, I’m challenging myself to complete one cross stitch every month. It might not seem like much, but I just don’t have the time to stay home and stitch for hours on end. So one completed piece in a month should be doable. I even created a tag for it so that you (and I) can keep track of how I’m doing at the beginning and end of the month. In the words of Barney Stinson, challenge accepted!

Since I didn’t do one in January, I’m going to be doing two pieces for February. Actually one and a half, I guess you could say. I have this Mario and Yoshi piece that I started a while back but just never finished. So this is piece #1.
For piece #2, I’m going to be doing… Well, I was going to share what I’ll be making but I think I’ll keep it as a surprise! Here’s a hint: it will be Nintendo themed. So funny story. When I first drafted this post, I had one pattern I found on Pinterest that I wanted to try out. However, I found a cool artist on Instagram and followed him, and he asked if I wanted to do an art trade with him! So that’s what I’ll be working on for my second piece. It will be kept secret (for the most part anyway) until I’m finished hehe.
Most (if not all) the pieces I’ve made in the past while have been gifts that had a specific deadline and I could feel myself getting a bit burnt out, which is no fun. Now that I’ve had a break, I’m looking forward to doing more.
I’ll check in with a new post at the end of the month with my progress. For future posts of my monthly cross stitches, look out for the tag #MCSC.
