Love it or hate it, Valentines Day is coming up next week. It’s looking like I will be single for Valentines Day this year (not that it’s really that important to me anyway). I’m pretty sure I’ll be spending the night working because #worklife. Anyways, I’m here to write about a craft that I made last year for my partner at the time.
If you’re looking for an easy gift for your special someone, try this one out!
Things you will need:
- a deck of cards
- binder rings or ribbon
- hole puncher
- glue stick
- card stock/paper to write on
- pictures, markers, stickers, any decorations of your liking
When Valentines Day was coming around, I saw this “52 Reasons I Like/Love You” deck of cards craft all over Pinterest. I found it cute so I thought I’d make it for my Valentine. (He loved it.) For mine, I did 52 Things I Like About You. Basically, you take a deck of cards and decorate them with reasons why you love your significant other. 52 cards = 52 things. Then you assemble the cards together to make a small book.
First thing you want to do is hole punch the cards. Much easier said than done so my advice is to be careful and be patient. I used business card paper that I had lying around to write my reasons on (this is more sturdy than regular printer paper). At first I planned to type up my reasons and print them out, but I decided it was more personal to write them with my own hand. The hardest part for me was coming up with 52 things, however once I started writing my ideas down, they flowed pretty easily. My reasons varied from little things like personality and style to important days in our relationship, like our first date.
Then I printed out pictures and used stickers I had around the house to decorate. Finally, I used ribbon to bind them together like a small book.
This was probably one of my favourite gifts that I’ve ever made because it really comes from the heart. That’s 52 things you have to list out about the person you love! What better way to make them feel loved. Though we should make our loved ones feel loved and appreciated every day 🙂
What are your plans for Valentines Day?
