April showers bring May… well, it’s actually been raining a lot more in May over here, haha.
The month of April had more ups than downs in terms of traffic. However, I was contacted to write my very first guest post! Click here to read how cross stitch helps me de-stress. In turn, I had my first feature post on here about blogging. I’m definitely looking forward to doing more guest posts in the future.
A big thank you to Rhys from Lord Libidan for writing this guest blog post!
Back in February, Kathleen posted what she’d learned in one month of blogging and she went over a lot of the key areas of blogging. However, having started my modern cross stitch blog half a decade ago, she’s on the right track, but there are a few tips that have really helped me along the way to the point where I was able to launch a marketing blog too.
The month of March had its ups and downs when it came to traffic on my blog. I hit the ground running with what I learned from February. However, as mentioned in my last post, the end of the month took its toll on me. I didn’t make a new post for about two weeks and I stopped promoting the blog altogether. Looking at my stats now though, I’m realizing my traffic didn’t go down as much as I thought it did.
I can’t believe it’s already been a month since I started this blog. There was an abundance of learning curves and I quickly learned what to do and what not to do. Leading up to the rebrand, I did so much research on Pinterest and read so many blogs about doing this and that. However, nothing I read prepared me for actually using my blog and taking it seriously. I also had a big focus on social media. I wanted to grow my following as well as use it to promote my blog.
This week almost didn’t have a blog post. But here I am. Phew. Recently I’ve made a couple changes in my life and I’ve found myself more out of the house than the past couple of weeks (at least since I’ve started this blog). I joined a gym about two weeks ago. On top of the gym, work, cross stitching, and spending time with family, my blog has taken a bit of a backseat. However, like most people, I’m glued to my phone every other minute of the day. So of course I’ve grown a little collection of apps I like to use to keep up with posts, social media and promotion.
